High in the hills in a tree by a bonny brook
Saw the smoke rising off the plain
"Follow me" said the first of our three
"We have been betrayed"
Tossed on the sea in a skiff with a cheery sail
The lighthouse disappeared beneath the waves
"I'll be damned," croaked our third sailor man
"How shall we be saved?"
Flying through the air in a kite with a jaunty tail
The sky pulled away from the land
"That's right odd," I said with a nod
And we drank our fill of sand
Down the track we go in a cart with a racing stripe
Melting into rubber down the lane
Crying "Doom!" we left for the Moon
And onward goes the game

Too Long at the Fair
02:04
|

Drag the demons from the frost
What once was won now seems all lost
On waves of fever we are tossed
We've been too long at the fair
The savage met the ravaged on corners and in shops
Whistling and signalling with tired old props
They're promising to pull out all of the stops
We've been too long at the fair
Our shelves are full our bellies round
Join me brothers let's go to town
There are pleasures yet to be found
Let's have a time at the fair
The wild-haired woman has said her sooth
"They who starts wars will hide the truth"
Calls the barker from his grubby booth
"You've been too long at the fair"
